The Chevrolet Equinox is a crossover vehicle that has been on the market for over 30 years. It was originally introduced in 1989 and then redesigned in 2000 to be more of an SUV than a passenger car.
The newest model has features three engine options: 2.4L I-4 engine with 6 speed automatic transmission, 3.6L V-6 engine with 6 speed automatic transmission or 2.0L turbocharged diesel engine with 8 speed automatic transmission, front wheel drive or all wheel drive transmissions available on some models. The Chevrolet Equinox offers the latest technology including Bluetooth, OnStar and XM radio capabilities. There are also several safety features that have been incorporated to ensure driver and passenger protection.
The "StabiliTrak" system is designed to keep the vehicle under control in an unexpected changing situation by intervening with selective braking of individual wheels. If the vehicle begins to roll over, roof-rail airbags will deploy and raise the roof of the car. This is designed to keep all passengers in their seats and avoid ejection.
